    About Anne McCaffrey

    1. Anne McCaffrey Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the Changelings book, this is one of the most wanted Anne McCaffrey author readers around the world.

    2. This last PTB trilogy reads as if it were a poorly-written fan fiction, by someone who was only told about the first trilogy. There are plot holes you could drive a tank through; few, if any, of the returning characters (of which there are very few) act as they did in the first trilogy (Marmion has developed a French accent, which makes no sense); there are several deus ex machina moments in each book; the characters, dialogue, and descriptions have none of the charm and development found in the [...]

    3. I had very much enjoyed the first three books and was pleased to see another come out. It began strong, but didn't stay that way. I really liked the beginning, with the culture and focus on Petaybee. Then it got to the twin's disregard for rules or their own safety, and I really didn't like that very much. It seemed to me as if the twins' disobedient recklessness was treated with approval--they're strong-minded, and all that, of course, isn't that great--and it was obviously used as the reas [...]

    4. I've read all of McCaffeys Dragons of Pern books and enjoyed every one. This is the first in a new series, about a sentient planet terraforming itself and se!ecting the people it wants to live there. Twin brother and sister with the ability to shape change into seals and communicate with each other are born. If you enjoy books with interesting characters, lively action and no violence, sex or explicit language, one you can read to your kids, grab this one and enjoy.

    5. This takes up where the last powers that be book leaves off. It is a typical AM book in that it is a book about people in a sifi/fantasy setting. I have most of AM's books and re-read them about every 5 years (it takes almost that long to get through all of them). This is the first time I have read this book. I liked it. Book 2 was also great; but I thought book 3 was a little overwhelming in the extent of the problems.

    6. I'm a sucker for books by Anne McCaffrey ever since I read the Pern series. I enjoyed Changelings however it's not up to the quality I enjoyed in the early Pern books. The characters are a little too "plastic". Not enough character development for me to really get to know them. They seem to be just caricatures. And the story line was just a little too predictable. Of course the evil Dr. Mabo would wind up encountering the children. And of course, Sean was conveniently unavailable to warn the [...]
